gajOke hana is founded by boaz and noah. The founders wanted to create a safe space where people can be themselves and feel like they have a second family they can go to whenever they need. As the motto states we strongly believe in belongingness and feeling safe at the same time. The org name "gajOke hana" means "one family." Gajoke in Korean is "family" and hana is "one." We also want to be able to 'joke' around with each other like families do. The reason the O is capitalized is because it can move to the second word too with Ohana also meaning family in Hawaiian. The goal of this org is for people to feel like they are at home with their family while being supported by other team members.

FOUNDER CEO of gajOke hana
Creating gajOke hana, I wanted to create a safe space like a club that I had in college. It was a gaming community that tried reach out to different colleges and universities to try and socialize and game with them. Unfortunately the club ended and I wasn't able to reach my full potential with where I wanted the club to go. So now I want to be able to do that and with gajOke hana I feel like I am able to do just that. Like the org name, I want to be able to create an org that is like a second family to streamers big and small. Just like family, I want everyone to be able to feel comfortable and be able to joke around without harming others and being able to go to other ohana members without hesitation. With that in mind, to be able to create a safe space, you need to be 'strong.' Although there may be times where people don't feel strong, that is what we are here for. We pick each other up and keep our head up. As family, we are one. We all belong.
